Byers sits just off I-70, approximately 30 miles east of Aurora and 40 miles east of Denver. Its proximity to the metropolitan area allows for small town country living with easy access to city amenities.

Byers is a small, unincorporated rural community of approximately 1,420 people. The community has a nice mixture of young and old with an active senior citizens club. Farming and ranching are the backbone of Byers' economy. In the 1970's and 1980's, oil and gas exploration contributed to a more diversified economy. With restaurants, gas stations, a grocery store, liquor store, feed and clothing store, tanning salon, bank, hardware store, veterinary clinic, beauty shops, nail salon, parts and repair shop and numerous other small businesses, Byers is a self-sufficient community with much to offer. There are single-family homes, trailer parks and a few apartments as well as 2-1/2 acre lots where one can own large and small farm animals. Additionally, the water in Byers is some of the purest anywhere and local telephone services extend into the metro Denver area.
